Side Projects Aren't a Distraction
Side projects create a different set of constraints from those found inside a large organisation. Building The Game Project gave me practical experience with TypeScript, agentic development, infrastructure economics and LLM-enabled products - experience that flowed directly back into my work as a technology leader.
